Railway axles forging process

Welcome to HENAN JINZHEN EQUIPMENT CO.,LTD.

Today’s article mainly talks about the railway axles forging process.

Railway axles are important load-bearing parts of train vehicles and locomotives. Heavy load conditions place high demands on the intrinsic quality of train axles. The train axle is a large stepped axle forging with a general blank weight of 400-800 kg. Railway axles were first produced by the open die forging process, and generally require 2-3 times of heating to complete the forging. Since the 1960s.

Another train axle forging process is: based on the original open die forging process, a fast forging hydraulic press is used instead of the forging hammer, which improves the working conditions, but the product quality is still not significantly improved, the railway axles production speed is still slow, and the processing margin is large.

There is also a train axle forging process that uses a radial forging machine for radial forging. Due to the high degree of automation of the radial forging machine, the manipulator and hammer head are controlled online, and the production of railway axles rhythm is accelerated. One production line can produce 80,000 forgings per year.

The above is the introduction to the railway axles forging process in this issue. In the next issue, I will tell you in detail about the forging equipment selection and process flow of the railway axle. At the same time, we can provide standard or non-standard forged railway axles according to customer needs.
